Brian K. Dickens, SPHR, MA, ABD

 

Present Responsibilities

Brian K. Dickens is the Executive Director of Human Resources and Payroll Services at Texas Southern University. As Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO), Brian is responsible for the setting the strategic direction for forecasting, directing and transforming the university human resource and payroll functions.

 

Experience

Prior to joining Texas Southern University, Brian has served as Director of Human Resource at University of Houston and Director for Student Activities and Leadership at Prairie View A&M University.

 

With more than 18 years of experience as a university administrator and over nine years of experience as a human resource development and management consultant, Brian is focused on leadership, management and organizational development. He has provided organization development services, and training services for managers and employees to enhance organizational effectiveness and efficiency, individual and work group performance, and the overall quality of work environments. Brian is committed to the pursuit and delivery of excellence through service.

 

Experience

Brian is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) completing his Ph.D. (ABD) in Educational Administration and Human Resource Development at Texas A&M University. He has a B.S. in Biology and a M.A. in Counseling from Prairie View A&M University. A graduate of Leadership Houston Class XXVII, Mr. Dickens is also a certified facilitator for Stephen Covey’s Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, Seven Habits for Managers, Leading at the Speed of Trust, and the Leadership Modular Series as well as Spencer Johnson’s Who Moved My Cheese Change Essentials program.
